Kenyetta LaCole

Mrs. Kenyetta La’Cole Richard is an author, poet, and entrepreneur who works alongside Poetic City to help bring
expressive art to the community.
Kenyetta believes that poetry is a great outlet for teens and adults to show a different form of art. Writing and performing helps develop social skills that are necessary to succeed in life. She knows that with her experience with children and family advocacy, she can continue to educate children through her poetry and writing.
Kenyetta is an owner and director of a child development center who has written curriculum for preschool and church
ministry programs. She is also the marketing director for Oklahoma Child Care Association.
Kenyetta holds a B.S. in Human and Family Science from North Eastern State University.
Kenyetta has performed in Poetic Dramas, Web series and speaking engagements at childcare conferences.
Courtney Strickland

Courtney Strickland is an Oklahoma-born business owner, poet, author, and entrepreneur; raised in Longview,
Texas; returning to Oklahoma City in 2008 to reconnect to her roots and initially begin her journey into her true passions and creativity.
She is quite accustomed to southern hospitality, being a mother of two and a Godmother to many. A natural-born
leader, her passion is evident in her writing which drives her daily. With a commanding personality, Courtney demands attention on the mic during spokenword performances with sister company Belle Poetry in places such as Oklahoma, Texas, St Louis, Kansas, and more.
Her books with coauthor, Kenyetta Richard, reflect her unfiltered personality-overflowing in captivating real-life
experiences. Now working on her next book Surviving Metamorphosis, Courtney is set to reveal some of the most personal and powerful moments in her journey.
As an author, editor, and CEO of Belle Publishing, she strives to see others succeed and pours her passion into every potential author that comes her way. In four short years, Belle has assisted over forty new writers in making their dreams come true.
A force to be reckoned with, Courtney and her coauthor are joint owners of Belle Books Boutique & More located in the heart of the Eastside in Oklahoma City, providing free community events like Saturday Story Time, food giveaways, and free books for every customer.
Courtney's heart for poetry and motivational speaking shows when volunteering her voice to the community at such places as Langston University, Cristo Rey Catholic High School, Western Oaks Middle School, and many others on
various topics, encouraging community awareness and involvement, especially in the black community.
